About me.

Hey, I’m Leah. Pronounced Leia, yes like the princess from Star Wars.

I launched this business after having my daughter in 2023. Whilst trying to find the perfect work life balance all new mothers strive for, wanting to help support my family and have my own sense of identity but not wanting to miss a single moment of my daughters life.

Before this, I worked for 3 years in a retail facing flower shop that specialised in wedding flowers. I absolutely fell in love with everything floristry. My passion was originally ignited from my love of house plants. Our home is a bit of a jungle, or at least it used to be before having a feral toddler running about the place. So during the pandemic I chose to leave my job in fashion spanning over 15 years to try something completely new and undertook my level 2 floristry qualification at Askham Bryan college, learning the fundamentals of the industry and leaving with a distinction.

Working in a flower shop is fast paced but nothing I wasn’t used to, working on Oxford street in London sets you up pretty well with that. Adapting to the vast variety and style of wedding briefs, working in the flower shop gave me the opportunity to try my hand at many styles of floristry from the super sleek Rose bouquets to the loose and free wild flower look, which I am truly grateful for. I learnt all aspects from the initial consultation to executing large scale installations on the big day. I also loved creating seasonal installations in fresh and faux flowers and not forgetting the much loved bouquet of blooms.

I’m lucky enough to now have my own private studio where I can get creative and work from, I really am living out my dream job. I try my hardest to be mindful when creating to ensure I use the most ethical frame work for my designs and when possible use locally sourced flowers and foliage however sometimes nothing compares to a purpose grown bloom.

I often get asked what my favourite flowers are, they change with the seasons. My winter favourites are hellebores. I absolutely adore all spring flowers but if I had to choose paper whites would be up there for their sweet scent. However temperamental they are to work with Peonies have to be in my favourites, especially as I have them tattooed on me. Then of course roses with all their forms, colours and scents.

I am forever grateful to be working in such a creative job I feel so truest passionate about, being given the trust to bring peoples floral visions to life. It’s a real pinch me moment.
